At Blue Sea Adventures scuba shop, we have always been cutting edge. Since 2003 we were the first to create online scuba classes in conjunction with SDI & TDI, now an industry standard. We teach in our onsite indoor heated salt water pool facility, where we bring in students from all over Dallas. You’ve seen our website, come visit our store, you’ll be surprised!
We believe that the heart of a scuba shop is not the initials behind it but the personality and effectiveness of the instructors. Having a pool inside the scuba shop allows us to extend the curtesy to our customers to use this pool. Private scuba classes are easy to schedule, its open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week! We also offer group scuba classes, check out Open Water Diver Certifications for more information.
In 2004 we opened our first scuba shop in Rockwall, Texas in a strip center next to Joe Willy’s. We loved the burgers, but in 2011 we had to opportunity to purchase the space we are in now, including the indoor heated pool. For a while to ease the transition, the Rockwall store remained open until the Fall of 2013.
in 2015 we started the first serious facelift of the scuba shop including new signs, blue exterior paint and some awesome window art. New air conditioning inside the indoor heated pool to make your scuba classes or swim classes more enjoyable by removing much of the humidity. We focus on reusing as much as we can in the store, almost all the of the fixtures, displays and furniture is repurposed or reused from another dive shop in the Dallas area.
Scuba Shop with Indoor Heated Pool
At the heart of every scuba shop is a pool somewhere. We are lucky enough to have on sight our own indoor heated salt water pool. Completely redone in 2012 in order to rent the pool for swim instruction. This required us to have a City of Garland public pool inside our scuba shop. The advantage is that the pool is cared for very well and circulates its water every 45 minutes! We keep it a warm 90 degrees at depth which makes for 88 at the surface, perfect for swimmers. To keep the scuba shop from becoming balmy on warm days in 2016 we installed air conditioning for the first time in the pool area, as a result swim lessons have doubled.
